Is it really anonymous?
There are no public or visible profiles. Your account can only be seen by you and the Shield Peacemakers team. We ask Peacemakers to connect through Facebook so we can confirm that you’re a real person, but we also give you the ability to choose a different name and avatar instead of using your Facebook details.
What happens after I report an Action?
It's added to your record and counts toward your next Shield. We look at the pattern of Actions across communities to understand where peacemaking is happening. We want to gather and share stories that Peacemakers want shared — but we do not identify people involved.
Do I need good internet or a new phone?
No new phone needed — the app is built to run on the phones most people in PNG already have, and to use as little data as possible. You'll need a connection to sync your Actions, but you won't need fast internet or a big data plan.
Who can see my information?
Only the Shield Peacemakers team, and only what's needed to run the programme. We never sell your data, never share it with other Peacemakers, and never hand identifying information to community leaders. We would only ever disclose anything if the law required it of us.
What are the rewards?
The real reward is what you learn and what you build in your community — but we also recognise commitment. As you earn Shields, you'll unlock recognition for your progress and earn real-world rewards.
